This is a colourful story about consciousness. Written in a conversational style, the thoughts, feelings and ‘seeings’ of the narrator are vividly described. Untrammelled by explanations, the flow of the narrative transforms a series of experiences into a fast flowing river that carries the reader through fascinating landscapes into alternative levels of reality.

Having seen how spiritual healing brought great relief to a dying relative, the narrator chooses to explore it further. A shocking vision of the disappearance of all trees transforms the dynamic and her journey begins. Loosening the grip of the ‘safe’ house, she seeks remote places where it becomes clear that the trees are ever-present companions and the undeniable catalysts of new experiences.

The action is set in the UK, in the reality of north Yorkshire and areas of Scotland, such as the Findhorn Foundation and the Isle of Skye. In addition to the Trees, the participants are Birds and other Beings; through them hidden realms become visible and daily reality is discovered to be only one part of the story.
