The Roots of a Goddess: An Anthology

The Roots of a Goddess is CM Writer’s debut poetry anthology. It is an exploration of self and of society. The anthology’s overarching theme is inspired by the natural life cycle of a flower, as it progresses from dormancy, through growth and flowering to dispersal. This transformation resembles her journey of self-discovery as an adolescent and presents the reflections of a young woman, on who she is today, and who she once was. She hopes her words help those who may not yet know how to help themselves. CM Writer, going also by Cassandra Mackenzie Wood, is a young Canadian poet, novelist and storyteller. Along with her debut anthology, she is committed to posting daily poetry to her Instagram platform @CM.Writer. She has also written several novels and short prose. With the power of her words, Cassandra hopes to spread awareness of mental health and social issues that impact the world today.
