Wasted

Jake Lydon returns for his seventh misadventure. (Huzzah! Huzzah!) A friend is brutally murdered in an alley in St. Petersburg and Jake refuses to buy the official police and media explanation. He and Alexandra vow to the dead man's widow to dig deeper, a pledge that takes them from Florida to southern Colorado and plunks them down in the midst of the nasty, multi-billion-dollar illegal cannabis industry, a world long-removed from the era of peace, love and understanding. A world populated by a ruthless, crafty drug lord running, his murderous lieutenants, a vast network of outlaw growers, family betrayals, crooked cops, and a psychopathic hitman. Not content to involve only Alexandra, Jake manages to rope his best friend, Steve Golding, into helping him to destroy this violent empire before it destroys them.

If Jake is anything, he's consistent. Consistently low on the likeability scale, he continues to be profane, childish, reckless, moderately amusing, and, above all, stubbornly determined to figure out who's behind this devastating Rocky Mountain high. And he needs that answer before the villainous "businessman" makes good on his plan to have Jake wasted.
