Community Arts is a practice of art within, for, and by the community. It is usually led by a professional Community Arts Facilitator with a community group who may not practice art full time. The goal of the practice is to express the community's ideas and concerns through the creative arts in whatever medium the Facilitator chooses. Community Arts is about coming together to create, and it can be an expression of cultural identity as well as a starting point or catalyst for social change.
