After facing a situation that opens Samantha up to teasing from her peers, she lears the meaning of empathy and how words have a power to hurt or to heal.
While Sam and the Sunburn is a sweet story with a necessary lesson, it is also a teaching book for children who are bullied or who may, in fact, be the bully themselves. Easy to read, but layered with lessons for all.
Author Sherry Olson is a therapist practicing in Saskatchewan, Canada. She also considers working out, reading, and writing to be necessities that afford her to thrive!
