Rita Anita Louise and Annie Jane Aweebit Plain are the best of friends ever. While they like to have sleepovers, watch movies, bake cakes, swim, and roller-skate together, they are also complete opposites. Rita is a high-end fashionista who is obsessed with clothes and style; Annie, on the other hand, is happy in her khaki slacks and polo shirt. Rita is always in the limelight, while Annie is happiest reading a book. Life is perfect until Annie gets tired of always being in the background. Rita, determined to help, sets on a makeover mission to put a little more glam in Annie’s predictable look. After a great deal of chopping, tucking, and pasting, Annie is ready to show off her new look at school. Of course, being a high-end fashion queen comes with its difficulties. Annie Jane can’t do any of the things she loves to do; softball, trombone, homework, and even walking are right out!
