A stranger gives Wayne a ride as he hitchhikes his way to Tucson. The stranger sees Wayne as an opportunity to end his nasty divorce by substituting Waynes body for his own in a house fire. Along the way, Wayne meets the wife of the stranger who turns out to be his old childhood sweetheart, April.
