Ancient Animals and Their Coins

This book offers a portfolio of photographs of 200 ancient coins with depictions of animals. There is also a discussion of ancient attitudes toward and treatment of animals wild and domesticated and the various roles animals played in ancient life, culture, religion, and mythology. All coins are illustrated with greatly enlarged photographs. Jasper Burns is the author and illustrator of more than 50 books.
