Based on a true narrative of one soldier's service in the Revolutionary War, a soldier is tasked by General George Washington to recover cannons lost in the retreat from Ticonderoga and transport them down the Hudson River to West Point during a bleak New York winter. The soldier was also an active participant in the Battle of Bemis Heights as a member of the Third Regiment of the Albany County militia later becoming an officer in the Continental Army.
