To begin, the first part of this book is a compilation of poems with focus on knowledge of what one may interpret and find important when reflection on life. The short stories take on the same idea but finish with a bit more humor than the poems.

The first story Nealry Left Behind/ The White Shoes Inquiry deals with an individual who is trying to find himself in a small town. He eventually thinks that he has upon returning home from the escapades he and his friends partake in. Nevertheless, after returning home there was a few minutes of his life where he never felt so lost, but he navigates through his difficulties for a humorous result.

The next story, which is entitled Out Side My Window deals with an academic who is trying to make it through his day. He speaks with friends and even has an interview with a landscaper to try an please his curious state of mind. He eventually takes things a bit to far but his friends are there for him.

The third story is entitled Hot Air. This story offers incites from an extremely humorous point of view. There is some political satire built into the story but it allows for an individual to laugh no matter what their political beliefs.
