Arnul and his younger sister Fayeth live in a poor, dry and barren land. As he approaches his 12th year, Arnul has dreams about Dinglesops and Thokeberries that trouble him and make him afraid. He tells his grandmother, Nana, of his troubles. She sends him and his sister on a long and difficult journey where he confronts and conquers his fears. Once he understands, he becomes happy and positive. And he wants to show others with fears how to overcome them.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Susan Shane Kimball was born in Granite Falls, Minnesota. Her father was a career army officer and she moved frequently within the United States and internationally in her formative years.
Susan graduated from Rolla, Missouri high school and earned multiple college degrees with honors from Central Missouri State University and the University of Delaware. After her marriage, she continued to live in many places, including Delaware, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, California, Hawaii and currently Bella Vista, Arkansas.
Susan is a teacher and author, but takes her greatest pride in loving and supporting her family.
Illustration by Ricky Sikes - Ricky Sikes is a Fine Artist and Illustrator currently residing in Arkansas. Ricky works in a variety of genres including sci-fi and fantasy illustration, children's book illustration, portraiture and landscape painting. Ricky is also known for his surreal, fine art works titled "Internal Dialogue".
