Late in 2019, a predatory alien race quietly arrived in a region of space which is home to several planets inhabited by humans. One of the aliens’ clandestine recon visits brought back a device from the surface of one of the human planets. The device is capable of transferring the consciousness of humans into other humans or into robots which are indistinguishable from humans. The aliens have come to the wrong conclusion about what the humans’ device is intended to do. Earth is unaware of either the aliens or of the other human occupied planets. These things are known only to a select few people. Ben Wilson is one. Ben is a human who has recently been transferred into a robot, and he is in the possession of a Jump device like the one the aliens are examining. Ben and the aliens are on a collision course, and they don’t know it. As the aliens’ plans for conquest of the humans take shape, Ben is learning, through experience, the uses to which the Jump device can be applied. A first battle between the aliens and humans takes place far from Earth, and now Earth is in their sights. Ben’s adventures with the Jump device have been preparing him for his most dangerous mission yet. Collecting Memories is a thought-provoking thriller. Packed with unexpected changes in direction that lead ultimately to a final resolution. The ideas it explores may have you thinking about this book long after you’ve finished it. Collecting Memories is technically the second book of the Memories Series but reads well as a standalone. The first book in the series, Multiple Memories, can be read later as a prequel.
