Kathy Stevens Bradley has enjoyed writing acrostic poetry for almost 20 years. This type of expressive writing was especially helpful when she had an unexpected stroke at age 60. Before her retirement from classroom teaching in 2013, she spent a wonderful 31 years as an elementary school arts teacher and writer. As a drama and music teacher, she taught kindergarten-5th grade. During these years, she had the opportunity to write and produce numerous plays and video productions for public schools in Columbia, SC. She is the author of 18 original plays for children, and wrote and co-produced the 6-part social studies series DETECTIVE BONZ & THE SC HISTORY MYSTERY (presently viewed on SCETV’s educational website knowitall.org). Some of her favorite pastimes are playing guitar, writing country songs, and spending time with her grandchildren and family. She is hoping her two grands will be her cohorts in singing and making up new tunes…and they seem to be willing, with spontaneous rhymes and songs springing forth at a regular pace. She is presently employed as a writer with SCETV.
