Although her life goes on, it is forever altered, as she experienced the terror of the storm, the uncertainty of evacuation, and the difficult rebuilding of her home. Writing Hurricane Harvey Lowku allowed Adams to explore the storm and flooding, as well as the rescue, recovery, and rebuilding, through a unique blend of poetry and narrative.
