Dear Tallulah

Who knew getting older could be so much fun? Certainly not Emily Saunders. A widow for more than twenty years, raising a young daughter alone had been her life up until the point her daughter, Trudy, now a successful interior designer, was given an assignment in Europe that could last for as long as two years. For Emily, the idea of living alone in the house Trudy and she shared for that length of time was not an option. While she has her bridge group friends and a helpful young male friend, Matthew (who she hoped would be her son-in-law someday), Trudy was her best friend and she knew she would be very lonely and feel isolated in the house, especially since she no longer felt comfortable driving.

Emily takes it upon herself to find an alternative and with the help of Matthew discovers Orchard Pines Residence and Spa, a large facility for adults no longer wanting to live alone but still able to take care of themselves. She decides to move to a small apartment there while Trudy is away. If she thought she would just live quietly at Orchard Pines, she was very mistaken.

Emily records her daily activities during her year alone in a journal so she can remember to tell Trudy all that she experiences, never imagining when she moves in to Orchard Pines that it will include intrigue, murder, a job , travel, romance, wonderful new friends, Tallulah -and then there is an English Lord.

This book will generate laughs (lots of laughs), smiles and a few tears for all those who read it and for those who are younger than Emily, a desire to be just like her when they get to be her age.
