No one ever talks about the beauty in the pain
the stillness that can only come from accepting its edge
how the face of God becomes clearer in every. agonizing. breath.
Suffering is the most damnable place on earth.
But when I lay here in its wake
and let it wash over and through me
I become a sacred, beautiful, holy tragedy
that is so wholly here
and so wholly in the realm of angels
that nothing on this side of heaven can touch me.
Julie was first inspired to write poetry in the midst of heartache. As her writings quickly evolved into intense, intimate conversations with God, she found herself deepening in her walk with Him and delving into deep places within herself, shaping her faith and worldview.
In this volume of poems, Julie interweaves her hearts expression with prayer and Scrip-ture, reflecting on experiences such as the beauty found in pain, the baptism of a sweet friendship in Franklin, Tennessee, the loss of love and its subsequent healing, the Lord’s blinding love and crushing mercy, and a premonition delivered by a little old lady in church.
Sea of Glass shares poems that explore a variety of inspirational topics while inviting us all to reflect on our relationships with God, our loved ones, and the world around us.
