When Kerri Bloodstone's estranged father, David, dies unexpectedly in Anoka, Minnesota, she has to face the truth of her powers of electrical manipulation and return to her hometown for the funeral. There, she meets her mysterious Uncle Bryan for the first time, who shows up out of the blue after her mother's tragic suicide years earlier. Kerri starts questioning the circumstances around both deaths.

Her unease grows when David's will requires Kerri to run his historic winery for one year or lose her rightful inheritance. The only exception is her mother's ornate bloodstone pendant necklace, which is said to possess unique protective powers. As Kerri reconnects with her local roots and rekindles a romance with her childhood friend Allen, she soon becomes the target of a sinister threat.
