The author of Act of Kindness, Vera Adjin, was born in Ghana, West Africa in a small town called Apowa. The life in Africa was difficult, as most parts of the world would know, as the person had to walk miles to get water for the family. Vera Adjin was no stranger to that, as the author had to walk around 8 miles round trip to fetch for water. The author would attend elementary school in 1965, migrate to USA and attend college there. This move eventually concluded with a Bachelor degree in Nursing from a university in New Jersey.

Act of Kindness is a book that is dedicated to all those generous people that go through the worse troubles just for one person. The author wants to reflect a story to all those people that are those rare gemstones who are capable of changing other people's lives. The story of the book revolves around two characters, V and Cassandra. V was a broken person, but still adamant of being honest and kind, was in search of light. That is when she met Cassandra - a stranger who turned out to be a blessing and earned the title of 'Godsend'.
