Ten year old Alexandra gets a cute black poodle as a birthday gift from her parents and decides to name him "Donny". Donny soon reveals himself to be a most unusual animal who behaves in many crazy ways giving his human family much amusement and, sometimes, lots of worry. Despite his often dopey behaviour, he soon establishes himself as a happy, much loved pet.

After 45 years in the classroom and having authored a number of science text books, Henry has now retired from face to face teaching and has taken writing rhyme stories describing real-life events occurring in his family circle."Poco the Perky Pussycat" is the third of these stories to be published commercially, "Alexandra's Accident" and "Possum Panic" being his earlier story books.
