A Dream Immortal is a collection of seven stories that explore the influence of personal consciousness upon individual lives and upon human destiny. In this collection we experience the fate of a Hindu prince soon to be a slave, the teachings of a mysterious stranger with spiritual powers, the story of a prideful monk abandoned in a now deserted monastery, the wisdom-journey of a wealthy Chinese famer accused of murder. We will see the world through the eyes of a teenage youth whose father was a Japanese Zen priest as he tries to become an "American" in rural Kansas, and share the adventures of an elderly lover of trees as he slips in and out of dementia. In the final story we see the power and beauty of innocence as we observe the upwardly mobile family of a child TV star who really just wants to be a duck.
