Dispatches #2
Carole Hinojosa
Carole takes us through the experience of serving as a recovery counselor for people in addiction treatment and house manager at a residential center for those returning from houselessness. Having experienced decades of homelessness and addiction herself, Carole is frustrated with the system that often fails to serve the people it's charged with serving, and she celebrates the triumphs of those who endure despite great odds against them. Dispatches from individual lives, as they happen: Each short book originates in short confidences recorded by individuals during borrowed moments from their interesting lives. Set amidst some of our most pressing contemporary predicaments and edited by award-winning writers Peter Orner and Laura Lampton Scott, Dispatches captures some of the highs and lows of daily human endurance.
