The trio navigate relationships both old and new, while they search for a means to help Dorothea, ultimately leading to a collision course with a vampire-mage faction determined to leverage The Envoy, the one dhampir that mediates for all vampire kind, for their own purposes. With so many lives in the balance, Mason risks her own undead existence and discovers a truth that could ultimately change the fate of vampire-kind.
