At the height of the global banking crisis in 2008, Reuben Freeman finds himself at the centre of a complex web of intrigue and double dealing involving his greedy bosses at the bank where he works, his exotic lovers, the lacklustre police force and a gang of ruthless organised criminals. His investigations into a series of murders and frauds take him on an increasingly desperate search across multi-cultural, twenty-first century London, as he attempts to apprehend the masterminds behind a string of murders and financial corruption. Repeatedly betrayed and double-crossed, he finds that he can only rely on a couple of loyal members of his team, his French lover, her girlfriend and himself - or can he?
After studying Law and Business Studies at University, I worked in financial services for 30 years, spending the past 20 years as a financial investigator. My work has taken me to the USA, Europe, the Middle-East and South-East Asia. I wrote Chasing the Bullet to record some of these experiences in a fictional form to entertain and thrill the reader. I am now planning a second novel whilst living in England with my wife and family.
The novel maintains a fantastically fun rate of speed against the background of the (financial) collapse.
Freeman and his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Anne-Sophie indulge in some classic thriller cat-and-mouse games.
