The book is about a comparative study of the Bible and the Koran. This commentary is selective pertaining to the topics. It is not a commentary on the entire Koran. The writer has attempted to be objective in his comment on the Bible and the Koran. Muhammad wrote the Koran in order to establish his new religion for Arabs. It is evident that Muhammad did not read the Bible when he was writing the Koran. He distorted biblical narratives to suit his purpose of writing the Koran. His knowledge about the Bible was based on secondary sources or popular misunderstanding of the Bible. As he was not a serious student of religions, he often misinterpreted the Bible. He made his followers to believe that his misinterpretation was a revelation from God Allah through angel Gabriel. There is a need to correct his misunderstanding with reference to the Bible and the people may know the truth. Muhammad distorted a biblical Christology which should be rejected by Christians. These issues lead to examine the claim of Muhammad as a prophet of God and the Koran as a word of God. Moreover, Sharia laws are based on the Koran and Hadith. Those laws do not reflect a spirit, suitable to democratic countries, where religious freedom is granted to all people, irrespective of their creeds, colours, and cultures. Muslims, who wish to settle in the democratic countries, should have to respect other religions and creeds. This book exhorts all people to live in peace and mutual tolerance.
