A beautiful faerie named Raynebow is sent to observe a young girl, Viola. When Vi was four years old she stumbled upon Raynebow when she catches the faerie in her dollhouse. Raynebow befriends Vi and they quickly became fast friends. Shortly after this event, Viola was in a terrible car accident, losing both parents and the use of her legs. Doctors didn't know if she would survive. Vi lived, but she was left with a weak immune system.

As Vi grew up in a sterile environment, around 12 years old, she created imaginary friends to battle loneliness. Raynebow had been watching her and could no longer stand Vi's sadness. She reappeared in her room to offer her friendship and a surprise. Knowing her imagination is strong, Vi questions whether meeting Raynebow before if it was a dream or a real memory.

After realizing it was real, Vi decides to leaves her broken body to go to Raynebow's world to live as a faerie permanently. Vi begins her new life and finally has a purpose. She meets other friends, and uses a gift she never knew she had. She is finally happy, has adventures and actually makes a difference
