Sylvia and her sister, Natalia, have just moved to the tropics, where summer lasts all year. But they didn't move to some fascinating, big city. No, that would be too much to ask! Instead, they moved to an island-AN ISLAND! Imagine swaying palm trees, sandy beaches, jumping dolphins . . . and absolutely nothing to do!!

As if fifth grade wasn't hard enough, Sylvia now has to worry about fitting in with new kids at the local island school! She is nothing like her sister, who is a social butterfly.

Sylvia must figure out how to make new friends, talk to a boy who likes her, deal with the mean girl, prove she is ready-or not-for middle school, avoid PE at all costs, and not go crazy being stuck on an island.
