My book "A Marriage in Hell", tells the honest truth of a person who is close to me. It tells of her life she has endured with her controlling, sel-fish husband from the day she married him.

She cannot voice her own opinion and he shouts her down telling her that she has to keep her mouth shut, and that his opinion goes.

She is frightened to leave and is sure that she would bear the repercussions from him should she get up and leave, he would -find her and possibly kill her.

She is frightened of him in every way and he puts her down at every level. She is trapped in this marriage until the end of her life

I was born to Irish/Italian Parents in County Tipperary Ireland. My father brought us to live in London at a young age. My parents, siblings and I lived in the east end of London in a damp basement flat, which had 2 rooms, a small kitchen and an outside toilet. Money was short and Mum always had to have on tick anything she needed for the home.

Although my father provided what he could to feed us, things were not great between my Mum and Dad, they seemed to go their separate ways.

My father stayed away sometimes for a night staying at family friends' houses. When visiting family friends he would buy their children new clothes, whereas we were given second hand shoes and second hand clothes.

My education was not good and I left school without any quali-fications at the age of fourteen years. I was always ridiculed at school by the English teacher for having an Irish accent, and I was told that I would not get anywhere in life. I had no con-fidence in myself.

In my late twenties I started writing small verses mostly with humor, which have been published.
