Known as the ‘Kawaishi Method’, Mikinosuke Kawaishi created a method of Judo intended for Europeans when he settled in France which also become known as ‘French Judo’. Its aim was to make known in its entirety, Japanese Judo from the source, since at the present time in Japan Judo had been obliged to discard quite a number of holds regarded as dangerous.

My Method of Judo covers all Judo techniques including Throws, Immobilizations, Strangulations, Armlocks, Leglocks, and Dislocation techniques. With nearly 300 illustrations this book is a valuable learning aid for the beginner or advanced student of Judo as well as a historical reference.

Mikinosuke Kawaishi was a Japanese master of Judo who achieved the rank of 7th Dan. He led the development of Judo in France, and The Federation Francaise posthumously awarded him 10th Dan in Judo and Jujutsu.
