When a police detective is injured in the line of duty, he finds that the department will no longer allow him to do his regular job due to his injury. He chooses to end his police career and start one as a private investigator. Shortly after his new career is launched, a series of unfortunate events necessitate him to include his son, who has Down syndrome, in his new business.
