The process of acquiring the concept of color begins around the age of two and ends around
the age of 3.5. As part of the developmental stages, the process of acquiring the concept of
color is also gradual. If it seems to you that your child is having a little difficulty and you want
to give them the concept of color, it is recommended to teach each
color separately. It is possible, for example, to declare
a red week . Dedicate that same week to acquire the red
color, emphasize red objects in the child’s surrounding
( Here’s a red truck , This apple is red etc.). In addition,
one day you can wear red clothes and another day eat
a whole meal of red foods, craft with red fingers/red
colors, etc. Use your imagination. Zoe’s Book of Colors
is another experiential way of getting to know the color.
