The Levant is a region with a rich history. It embraces hundreds of races and ethnicities, and most religions and civilizations that shaped the ancient world originated there, all merging to become what it is today. At the heart of this land is the city of Damascus, known to people as Shaam. Our protagonist carries this name and walks on a difficult and long path. Many have walked it before, and many will walk it after. It lies between wars and destruction, and the greed of some people drove them to seek a better life and the warmth of others. In our story, we avoided mentioning any specific place or city; we wanted Shaam to be the voice of all children in the world. Despite people's differences, they all share pain and the same dream.

Like all fathers, Shaam's father is strong and determined, and her favorite hero is dedicated to protecting her family in these difficult times and ensuring their safety and a decent life. During the journey, he does not hesitate to do anything to guarantee the safety of those he loves. Shaam's mother is a gentle and giving lady who covers them with affection and songs. She supports her husband and keeps the flame of hope alive within them, even amidst the storms they face.

Shaam's younger brother is mischievous and always in trouble. Life has been tough on him from a young age, and he lost his voice when their house collapsed. However, he remained resilient and mischievous, like all young children should be.
