I am a visual artist and a poet. I've always let my heart choose what I paint and when I reflect on the poems in this, my first book of poetry, I realize that again I've let my heart lead the way. Some of the poems in this collection speak of my personal life - its gifts and its hardships. Other poems speak for equal justice, our beautiful blue planet and democracy. The final group of poems express my joy at just playing with words and seeing where it leads me.
