The madness of the world over the past few years has made many people realize that life is short and fragile. When disaster strikes, people see past hesitation and cowardice, which leave many regrets for those unfortunate people who can only lament the unfinished things. This perception made me determined to follow my lifelong dream of turning my illusion into poetry. As the first generation of immigrants, it has always been painful for me to use the English language to break through the barrier of ideas. Language is nothing but a message carrier that may restrain the freedom of a non-native speaker to express thoughts. Poetry, however, is concise but profound. It’s the ideal approach to deliver an image and bring contemplation. Therefore, it gives me the power to freely express my passion and sensation in a straightforward and artistic manner.
