Calamity starts when Devo Mannix's talking dog, Speeler, and his friends Squirrel decide to go hunting for walnuts in the Haunted Forest for Squirrel's winter supply of food.

The trouble begins when Devo Mannix's talking dog, Speeler, and his friend Squirrel go looking for walnuts in the Haunted Forest. They find Hector; a Unicorn, stuck in the mud and unable to move or free himself.

To show his gratitude after being freed, Hector grants Speeler and Squirrel each a wish.

Squirrel, suddenly disappears when he accidentally uses his wish.

Knowing that Squirrel had only one wish and no way to return; Speeler, begins the adventure of his life in an effort to return his friend back home.

Speeler and Squirrel soon learn the true meaning of the old proverb "Be Careful What You Wish For."
