Clyde Holding wishes for a better life. Stuck at dead-end retail job at Martins, Clyde does his work, leaves, and repeats the process for the next day. One night filling the Arts and Crafts section, Clyde comes across a pair of Crochet Hooks. Clyde takes them home, only to realize that he can create whatever he wants and desires. This begins Clyde’s problems, as he begins to see a ghost girl named Serena and is attached to the Hooks. When Clyde’s store is attacked, he uses his powers in self defense. Clyde expects to be hailed a hero, until corrupt Sherriff Mark Durn believes Clyde to be the murderer. Now on the run, Clyde creates a fortress for himself and waits out Mark and his army. Clyde wants to prove himself innocent, however, how can he do that when an entire city wants to kill him? Forced to prove his innocence, Clyde realizes that more blood must be spilled in order for the citizens of Casper, MA, to believe him. If there are any left. Thus begins the story of Clyde Holding, who became known as the Butcher of Casper.
