Preparing for an additional trading mission Jacobus meets the Apostle Thomas in front of a Synagogue in Alexandria, Egypt and offers to take him to India on his ship. Decades later, Jacobus decides to return home to Sicily on his pet elephant. Reaching Jerusalem a year later, he arrives on a hill overlooking Jerusalem only to fi nd the city totally destroyed, with thousands of bodies piled up around the destroyed city walls with hundreds of dead and dying victims of Roman crucifixion all along the roads.
