Pleasant Valley School is one of four amazing elementary schools in South Windsor, Connecticut. We are a community that celebrates diversity and inclusion, and this book was written to share the perspectives of students in one of those schools.

The stories from our families, students, and staff share how unique each one of us is while at the same time honoring the diverse tapestry of the community.

Each story is told through the eyes of one individual in hopes that they will help us to understand one another, improve our practice and acceptance, and find beauty in the fabric of our community.

Recording our stories in this book allows us to capture each person's uniqueness and helps to promote conversations about our personal history in order to better prepare for our futures. We honor the differences in each child and recognize that each child in this book will make a positive change in the world.
