At 5 years old, Kevon was shot twice during a drug deal gone bad. He faced obstacles and situations that made him doubt his self-worth. Through mentorship and the power of education, Kevon was able to find his voice. He has chosen to use that voice and become a children’s book author.

In this book, he highlights his grandmother, who he feels was his angel on earth, along with honoring his other mentors by using their names in his first book. Kevon plans to continue to write with the hope of reaching thousands of young readers. His dream is to inspire them to never give up.

Kevon and his friends have a big field day ahead of them at school. As the games begin, they worry about failing. Will Luis have fun at the sack race? Can Brenda finish the three-legged race? Despite their doubts, Kevon and his friends rise to the occasion and overcome each obstacle placed before them.
