Eden, orphaned and sent to live with her uncle and cousins, feels blessed to be taken in by a family she really doesn't know. She longs to be accepted and loved. She settles in and enjoys the companionship of her cousin, Aleida. Their many adventures in the meadows on her uncle's estate, but his warning to never go beyond the woods echoes in Eden's mind as to why.
