Curiously Colorful Kids is a collection of original watercolor art work of Northern children at play by Artist Diane Solie Smith (1930-2003). Fifteen colorful illustrations alongside line drawings for you to color. Either match the artist's vibrant color scheme or make up you own. Diane affectionately referred to the children she created as "her kids."

Images include ice fishing, tree climbing, aurora borealis, winter picnicking, cross-country skiing, wood gathering, winter polar bear hunting, and dancing.

She was well-known for painting beautiful scenery and gold rush era buildings that populate the Atlin, British Columbia region of Canada. Diane also worked with soapstone and her carvings were considered prized possessions. She was an award-winning author, co-writing Atlin: The Story of British Columbia's Last Gold Rush among other publications.

Diane was a lifelong dog lover, a dedicated historian, and a consummate volunteer. She loved flowers and her house was invariably surrounded by flower beds and her yard covered in a blanket of vibrant colors. Later in her life, Diane turned to painting. She did a series of paintings featuring them. Many of those works have never before been released.
