A play properly written with a lot of wit and a realistic image of the society. It is at the same time entertaining, at the same educative. It’s a call to order to our National Security system in a blend of grim humour, and horror. The play opens with an old shop owner chasing away a mad man who later helps in vindicating the shop owner in a mysterious case of theft. The suspense and display of the theft event is amazing. The display of lawlessness in the person of the supposed law enforcer is alarming. The second section of the play is even deeper. Truths on the carelessness of the different police officers are disheartening. The lynching of the thief transforms the reader’s feelings from vengeance to pity. Mob lynching thereby turns out to be the result of a vengeful neglected population that has taken power into their hand - a population that has undergone atrocities in the hands of criminals who were hardly caught. When caught, never judged, but released after bribing to reinforce criminality in the society. The horrific description of the thief’s lynching is enough to tell of vengeful spirit of the mass.
