Dr. D.F. Arnold, a native of Cleveland Ohio, is an author, consultant and motivational speaker. He provides training in leadership and motivation to a wide range of groups – including professional athletes, executives, students and individuals across the United States. Dr. Arnold has an earned Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Washington State University. He understands success and failure. He also understands how to motivate others to achieve their dreams and discover their purpose. After getting kicked-out of two different high schools and ultimately graduating from a continuation school, his message is simple It’s not how you start, but how you finish that counts. This gifted educator works with the National Football League’s Rookie Transition Program, the league’s onboarding program for drafted and undrafted rookies. Dr. Arnold has been a facilitator at NCAA leadership conferences, and a panelist on discussions concerning the state of public schools.

Sharalle Arnold, M.Ed., has spent years working on behalf of young children, women and families as an advocate, seeking to elevate the voices of those that are chronically muted. She received her B.A. from California State University, Chico, in Liberal Studies, and her M.Ed. from Washington State University. She is a California native, who has lived in Michigan for more than 15 years, working in higher education and raising her family. Prior to joining the GVSU Center for Women & Gender Equity, Sharalle served in a leadership capacity at the GVSU Children’s Enrichment Center for more than 10 years. Her research and personal passion center on the experiences of African/Black females in leadership at PWIs along with food insecurity on campus and pregnant/parenting college student success. Sharalle has co-authored several books, including her most recent, University and College Women’s and Gender Equity Centers.
