The reason is because people have two kinds of lives: One that is of flesh and another that is of Christ.The first covenant is for the life of the flesh (see Hebrews 7:16) and the second covenant is for the life that is in Christ (see Deuteronomy 29:1-30:4 and Jeremiah 31:31-34).We can now live as the people of the New Covenant and hear the voice of Jesus so that we may be taught by Him instead of by other people.
