Road Worthy

A Union soldier languishing in a prisoner of war camp whittled a mallet from Georgia pecan. My father bought that mallet in 1975 for twenty-five cents. So was born a crazy idea for five guys spanning three generations to take an RV trip across Civil War battlegrounds in search of the mallet’s story, and in the process, create a story of their own.

From inspiration gleaned from playing basketball in South Florida to a modern-day Civil War odyssey to an epic bike trip of remembrance from Rhode Island to the Vietnam Wall in D.C., Road Worthy is a journey over miles and through decades that affirms the joy of family and friendship, the depth of human sacrifice, and the interconnectedness of the human spirit.
