The book is based on my experience as a black male coming to UK at an early age and seeks to describe my experiences of growing up in a foreign country and facing and dealing with all of the usual and common challenges EG: Bullying at school, domestic violence within my household, integrating into the culture, finding employment, the issues faced by a father with mental health issues, a mother who suffered with dementia in later life, my foray into the world of music. The book draws comparisons to attitudes around immigration then and now and questions whether much has changed since the Windrush years, and in particular looks at examples of racism, regionally biased attitudes etc.
