My name is Sara, and this is my visit to Grandmother’s House.

Those five words that I didn’t like to hear.

Let’s go to Grandmother’s House.

Those words should bring comfort to a child; everybody should like going to Grandmother’s house but not for me.

It’s not the typical, sweet visit of Grandmother giving you cookies and going to the zoo or beach.

I didn’t like going to Grandmother’s House; my experience is different.

It wasn’t all that bad, just that one part ruined it for me.

Here is my story.

My name is Sara, and I’m a child of God. God has given me a gift of writing, and I give glory to God. Because of God’s love, I can share my story.

Grandmother’s House is her first book, including her testimony of healing and recovery towards peace and freedom.

What helps my situation was my faith in God and my courage to forgive. It was the hardest thing for me to do to face my grandmother and forgive her. It started with forgiveness.

The thing is faith is an action. And it takes lots of time to heal. God journeys with you in the healing process; you are not alone.

Don’t take matters into your own hands and don’t try to hurt them back. It’s not worth it, let it go, give everything to God, and you will receive love, joy, and hope.

I did it, and so can you. You can forgive the person(s) that hurt you. I know it’s hard; tell me about it. But when you genuinely forgive someone, you receive peace and freedom, and that is something nobody can take away from you.

Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord. Therefore If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
