If not for an intervention here and there and persistence, the author might not have survived at all to tell these tales. But they are not tall tales, they are true-life experiences drawn from notes the author made both during and shortly after the incidents. In short, this book is a collection of trying times through which the author prevailed against nearly overwhelming odds.
