Exploring emotions and learning how to deal with them is an important part of social emotional learning for children. This sturdy board book, which features adorable artwork from the illustrator of Clever’s popular title Don’t Wake the Dragon, is part of the First Feelings collection of books from Clever.

The story takes young readers along as Unicorn experiences things that make her happy: a friend coming over to play, a snack in the park with a friend, and playing outside with more friends. Large lift-the-flaps on each spread are just right for little hands to explore, while engaging prompts on each page encourage children to try to figure out why Unicorn is happy in a particular situation.
