Opal the Unicorn Loses Her Sparkles
Danielle Cohen
It is human nature-and more importantly, unicorn nature- to compare oneself to others. Opal the Unicorn is excited for a day at the playground with all of her friends. She quickly learns that she cannot do all of the activities like her friends because she is a unicorn. She then becomes sad and loses all of her sparkles. Opal the Unicorn’s mother offers some advice to cheer up her daughter. The advice motivates Opal the Unicorn and allows her to recognize that everyone has unique qualities. She rejoins her friends on the playground and discovers what her unique quality is. And because of her new found confidence, she will never lose her sparkles again!
