Silhouette of Thoughts

Stories of the bogeyman run clear through my head, I lay here and think of all the horrible things that were said, shadows and claws, sharp green teeth but I look in the mirror, and all I see is a reflection of me, fear of success, ashamed of the what if’s, rehearsing my failures and downplaying my gifts. I’m not afraid of the things that go bump in the night; I’m afraid of my own voice and the pain I hide in plain sight. This isn’t a story of ghosts and demons; this is a story of growth and self-healing.
